When Carol and I returned from Italy in 2009 with our tail between our legs, we immediately started planning to attend the French Open tennis tournament in Paris in June of 2010. I would be responsible for finding an apartment in Paris, and Dave would find us airfare to Paris. Imagine our surprise when Dave and Olwen announced that we were flying to Manchester, staying with Olwen's sister for a week and then taking the train to Paris. It was wonderful.

During this period I had been experimenting with HDR (High Dynamic Range) a photographic technique that samples multiple exposures of the same image to create a result that is properly exposed across the entire photograph. I still think that HDR results in an image that more closely represents what the eyes told my memory.
